A native Nova Scotian, heather grew up in and around the Bay of Fundy. Now entering her third decade as a stone sculptor heather is fairly described and roundly considered a master in the craft. Trained as a restoration stone mason in the British style, heather began her career restoring historic architecture in and around the Halifax area; influences one can detect in her work today. heather’s work can be found throughout North America in private collections, Provincial and National sites, and on and within the great architecture of Atlantic Canada. Her work is created intentionally for both interior and exterior spaces, some particularly for gardens; another of heather’s great passions. Visitors and collectors of heather’s work have made the journey to her remarkable space aside the Fundy coast for more than 15 years. heather’s complex and beautiful gardens filled here and there with her fountains, sculptures and unexpected gifts, peaceful and inspiring surroundings and beloved goats, sheep, fowl and dogs have drawn admirers from far and wide. Countless articles, feature stories and pictorial essays about her space and work have populated the renowned publications of the region and Country.
